Hi!
I’m Sahil, lawyer by week and photographer/traveler/all round general enthusiast at both ends! When I’m not traveling and living the life of a travel photographer, I’m trying to earn money as a lawyer to fund my travels :)
Having lived in India entirely so far has fueled the desire to travel the length & breadth of my country and explore the world. I have been fortunate and blessed to travel extensively in India and lived in most parts of this wonderful country.
With an effusive addiction for the mountains, winter, Formula 1, Bollywood classics, some singing, playing squash, photography, drones, scuba diving and that black hole of time - Netflix, I’m barely left with time to do much else :)
The mountains and the raw cold they offer are my first love and I find myself turning to them every time I think of a quick getaway from the urban mundane lives we’re slaves to. The Himalayas are the source of a tremendous sense of calm and inspiration that have had a magnetic draw I find inexplicable. Could be a result of schooling and belonging in their foothills in the town of Dehra Dun or maybe it’s just a wanton love for the great outdoors, but the mountains are a major reason why I find myself in Delhi.
Wedding Photography India is a country of diabolical inequalities in many ways. One of these is the kind of weddings families celebrate and the money attached to them. Giving vent to my passion as a photographer, many moons ago I carried my camera along to a close friend’s relatively sombre wedding in Bombay and came away with some fairly nontraditional, yet obsequious images. This quickly turned into a fad with friends and before I knew it, I was shooting weddings one heck of a lot. Suddenly, I was a ‘candid photographer’. This, with a full time job as a lawyer meant burning the candle and the week at both ends! Many moons and weddings later, I’ve had the privilege of traveling extensively to cover a myriad ensemble of what makes up the Indian wedding industry. You can see select work at
