Dehradun & Mussoorie, October 2020

Megha's first trip to Dehradun to pay homage to all things golden about my growing up years in the Dun valley.

After a quick dash to Vasant Vihar to reminisce the past at what was once my maternal grandparents' abode, it was straight to Doon School for a prowl around the grounds. Megha suitably wowed, we made a beeline to The Claridges Nabha in Barlowganj, Mussoorie. A heritage property set amidst 13 acres of cedar and silver oak forest, it enjoyed preening as the summer retreat of the former Maharaja of Nabha once. A couple of nights here, with a tour of the lovely Savoy hotel, a daring drive up to the only beautiful part of Mussoorie left now - Landour, and we wound down the hill to Dehradun.

We spent a wonderful day and night at The Shumshere, a property over a hundred years old, carefully wrapped within the homely old lanes of Dalanwala. While I got busy shooting the property, tripod et al in tow, Megha settled down to enjoying the laidback Dehra of November.
